Amazon Scam - Be warned
From a Local NW Coordinator:
"I have received a very realistic email today purporting to be an acknowledgment from Amazon for an order which I had not placed. The supposed supplier was American and the amount was for $882. 75; re an Apple Ipad Tablet and some screen protectors.
I suppose that the senders would like you to get in touch with them and in the course of the discussion they would ask you for your credit card details. Fortunately, my security programme classified this email as ‘spam’ which is unusual for emails involving Amazon and my suspicions were aroused.
My credit card company confirmed that it was a ‘phishing’ attempt"
