NHW NW Alert members of the public foil criminals
Police are urging people in Warwickshire
to stay alert to potential criminal activity after two separate
incidents where members of the public called the police after disturbing
people acting suspiciously around homes and cars in Warwickshire in
recent days.
Incident 8 of 12 February: At 1.45am on Sunday 12 February a quick
thinking member of the public shouted at two males she believed were
attempting to break in to a home in Trentham Close, Nuneaton after she
heard a loud bang. The males shouted abuse back at her. Officers arrived
to find the males had fled the scene and made an immediate search of
the area in an attempt to locate them. Officers believe the males may
have entered the gardens from Packwood after discovering a fence panel
was removed in the garden.
Incident 17 of 14 February: At 2.20am on Tuesday 14 February a
member of the public called the police after seeing a male in a reddish
hooded top on his driveway in Beverley Road, Leamington Spa. The male
seemed to be trying the door handle of his car. The householder shouted
at him and he ran off towards Rugby Road. The car was not damaged.
