Warwickshire County Council’s Trading Standards Service would like to draw Warwickshire householder’s attention to a business that is using an incorrect address on its advertising.
Newstone Premier Driveways has been carrying out tarmac work and block paving in the Leamington Spa and Kenilworth areas.
The business has been advertising its address, both on signs displayed around the area and on paper work supplied to customers, as 23 Siddaway House, Rugby.
Warwickshire Trading Standards can confirm that Newstone Premier Driveways is not based at the address and the occupant has no connection at all with the trader.
Trading Standards Officers have been unable to find a valid address for Newstone Premier Driveways.
Improvements to homes and gardens can be expensive. If work isn’t up to scratch consumers need to be able to contact the trader to get things put right. When choosing a trader, Warwickshire Trading Standards Service advise the following:
· Go on recommendation if at all possible and use traders family or friends have been happy with.
· Ensure the business has a genuine address – find out how long they have been there for.
· Ask to see examples of their work and verify it with the householder.
· Get everything written down - don’t rely on spoken agreements.
· Don’t buy from the first trader who comes to your door or be rushed in to making a quick decision - seek quotes from reputable local traders.
