The latest scam on YOUR Doorstep

Today, 13 June, a resident in Fenny Compton received two parcels that they weren't expecting. They didn't open the parcels but shortly afterwards there was a call to say that there had been a mistake and that the parcels would be collected in the morning. However a man called soon after to collect them.

Fortunately a relative happened to be visiting and alerted the police when he discovered that the parcels contained mobile phones. A quick thinking local tradesmen also realised that something was "not quite right" and took a photograph of the taxi in which the man had arrived.

There was a further phone call and a visit from a well-known delivery company attempting to recover the parcels which by this time had already been collected by the police.

Please be very wary of receiving goods that you haven't ordered and make sure that you warn vulnerable relatives and friends of this scam.
